Upon Consideration of the Case of the Ship Unicorn Captain

Thomas Dean and Ship Baltimore Captain Benjamin Darley stated
and referred to this Board by Otho H. Williams Esqr. Naval Officer
of the 4th District, Resolved that it is the Opinion of this Board that
the said Ships ought to be considered as navigated agreeably to
those Provisions in the late Act for imposing of Duties which entitle
Vessels to a partial Deduction from the said Duties.

Upon Consideration of the Case of the Brigantine Minerva Captain
Jesse James stated and referred to this Board by Otho H. Williams
Esquire Naval Officer of the 4th. District, Resolved that it is the
Opinion of this Board that the said Brigantine ought not to be con-
sidered as navigated agreeably to those Provisions in the late Act
for imposing of Duties which entitle Vessels to a Partial deduction
from the said Duties.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Saturday 22d. October 1785

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Paca Esqr. Governor.

The Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca, John Davidson, John H. Stone and
Samuel T. Wright, Esquires.

[p 68] Upon Considering the Case of the Ship Kitty stated and
referred to Us by John Davidson Esquire Naval Officer of the 3d.
District,

Resolved that it is the Opinion of this Board that a New Register
ought to be taken out for the said Ship and that the Property be
proved as the Law directs.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.

Monday 24th. October 1785

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Paca Esquire Governor.

The Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca, John Davidson and John H. Stone
Esquires.

Commission issued to Edward Reynolds appointed One of the
Coroners of Calvert County.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Tuesday 25th. October 1785

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Commission issued to John Denwood elected Sheriff of Somerset
