Summons's issued to John Stevens Sheriff, John McKeel Ander-
son, Jesse Rue, Nehemiah Andrew, Daniel Parker, John Scott,
Medford Andrews, Richard Pattison Junr., Henry Hooper 2d.,
Reuben Andrews, George Welsh and James Bryan to Testify at the
Hearing before the Governor and Council Tuesday the ist Day of
November next, of the Complaint of James Shaw that the Election
for Sheriffs of Dorchester County was not made regular and agree-
ably to the Constitution and Form of Government.
Whereas it appears by a Transcript from the General Court for
the western shore together with the Petition of William Lynch of
Baltimore County, that he was presented to the said Court in four
several Presentments for Preaching and Teaching the Gospel, and
Judgment given against him for One [p 69] hundred and
fourteen pounds each amounting in the whole to four hundred and
fifty six pounds a sum which he is by no means able to pay without
enevitable ruin to himself and Family, and the Judges of the General
Court having recommended him to this Board as a Person of a
fair Character who has suffered considerable loss in attending the
Court, and paying the Costs of the Prosecution and the regard due
to an innocent Family, The Board took the same into consideration
and did order and direct the several fines above mentioned to be
remitted.

the Board setting forth that he is now confined in Baltimore County
