          292 Charles County Court Proceedings, 16 71—1674.

         Liber E This Indenture made the eight day of January in the nine and
               thirtyeth yeare of the Dominion of Caecillius absolute Lord and
               Propryetary of the Provinces of Maryland & Avalon Lord Barron of
               Baltemore & Anno Domi one thousand six hundred and seventy
               Betweene Thomas Stone of Charles County in the Province of
               Maryland Gent of the one part and Thomas Allanson of the said
               County Gent of the other part, witnesseth tht the sd Thomas Stone
               as well for & in consideracon of the quantety of fowre Thousand
               pounds of tob in caske to him in hand payd by the sayd Thomas
               Allanson the receipt whereof the said Thomas Stone doth hereby
               acknowledge and thereof and of every part and parcell thereof doth
               hereby absolutely and clearely exonerate acquitt & discharg the said
               Thomas Allanson his heyres Executrs Administratrs and Assignes
               By these prsents hath given graunted bargained alyened sold en-
               feoffed and confirmed and by these prsents doth give graunt bar-
               game alyen and sell enfeoffe and confirme unto him the said
               Thomas Allanson his heyres and Assignes forever all tht parcell
               of Land called Stones delight lyeing in Charles County aforemen-
               coned on the East side of Piscadoway River begining at a marked
               ash standing on the south side of a Creeke in the said River called
               Piscatoway Creeke being the bound tree of William Calvert Esq
               and runing south west into the woodes for the length of three
               hundred & 20 pches to a marked Oake standing in the woods being
               the exterior lyne of Will Calvert Esq bounding on the South wth a
               lyne drawne South East from the said Oake for the length of two
               hundred and fivety pches to a marked Oake on the East wth a lyne
               drawne North East from the End of the former lyne for the Length
         [fol. 16]  of three hundred and twenty pches to a marked Oake Standing by
               the Creeke side on the North wth the said Creeke on the west wth the
               land of Will Calvert Esq containeing and now layd out for five
               hundred acres be the same more or less now in the Tennor or occu-
               pation of him the sd Thomas Stone or his Assignes together all
               the Rights and benefitts thereunto belonging and allso all Patents
               deedes writeings and evidences touching or concerning the same To
               Have and to hold the sd parcell of land and all and singular the
               bargained prmisses unto him the said Thomas Allanson his heyres
               and Assignes forever, To the only pp use and behoofe of him the
               said Thomas Allanson his heyres and Assignes forever, And the said
               Thomas Stone doth for himselfe his heyres Executrs & Administratrs
               doth hereby covenant and graunt to and wth the sd Thomas Allanson
               his heyres and Assignes, That he the said Thomas Stone his heyres
               Executrs & Administratrs the sd parcell of land and all other the
               bargained prmisses unto him the said Thomas Allanson his heyres
               and assignes agt all psons wtsoever shall and will warrt and forever
               defend by these prsents, The Rents and Services hereafter to become
               due and payable to the Lord Propryetary for the same allwayes
               excepted and foreprized, and farther That the said Thomas Stone
