     or halfe part of the aforesd Land and all and Singular other the LiberD
     premises hereby graunted Bargained and sold or Mentioned to be
     herein or hereby Graunted Bargained and Sold with their and
     every of their rights Members and appurtenances Whatsoever unto
     the Thomas Lomax his heires and assignes to the only proper
     use and behoofe of the said Thomas Lomax his heires, & assignes
     for ever And the sd Hugh Thomas for himselfe his heires Executrs
     Adminrs and Assignes the sd one Moyitie or halfe part of the said
     Land and all and Singular other the premises before graunted
     Bargained, and Sold with the appurtenances unto the Sa Thomas [p. 15]
     Lomax and his heires to the only proper use and behoofe of the
     said Thomas Lomax his heires and assignes for ever against him
     the said Hugh Thomas his heires and assignes and all, & every
     other person and persons whatsoever Lawfully Claiming by, from,
     or under him them or any of them and against all other person and
     persons whatsoever Shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend
     by these presents Excepting and foreprizing the Rent hereafter
     Mentioned (to say) Sixe Shillings Sterling annum being the
     Moyitie of the rent due for the said Sixe hundred acres of Land to
     be paid by him the sd Thomas Lomax his heires and Assignes to the
     Lord Proprietary according to the times and Limitations in the
     aforesd Pattent mentioned and expressed In Confirmation hereof
     the above said Hugh Thomas have hereunto Set his hand and
     affixed his Seale the 26th Day of Aprill in the Sixe and thirtieth
     yeare of the Dominion of Caecilius Lord and Proprietary of this
     Province and in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand Sixe hundred

      To all Christian people to whom this present Writeing Shall
     Come Hugh Thomas of Charles County in the province of Mary-
     land Sendeth Greeting Know ye That Whereas I have Signed,
     Sealed and delivered the Within written Deed purporting a Bar-
     game and sale from me the sd Hugh Thomas to Thomas Lomax
     within Mentioned of the Moyitie of Sixe hundred acres of Land &
     other the hereditaments thereunto Belonging as is within Men-
     tioned, and may there appeare Now the Hugh Thomas hath
     Constituted ordained and appointed and by these presents Doth
     Constitute ordaine, and appoint Thomas Hyat of Charles County
     planter his true and Law full Attorney for him and in his Name
