Scheduled Closings
The Baltimore City Archives is generally open for public appointments:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 3pm
4th Wednesday of each month from 5pm-8pm
PLEASE NOTE: The City Archives (2615 Mathews St.) will be closed to the public for renovations starting April 27, 2026. The closure will last approximately two months. We will post our re-opening date here and on our homepage when it has been confirmed.
During this time, research assistance will still be provided by our archivists via email and phone.
In 2026, the following Wednesdays will be available for evening appointments:

| November 25 | December 16 |
In 2026, the City Archives will also be closed to the public on the following days:

| March 2 - 6 | Quarterly clean-up |
| April 27 - June 29 (Approximately) | Building renovations |
| September 28 - October 2 | Quarterly clean-up |
| Tuesday, November 3 | Election Day |

| December 21 - January 1 | Holiday closure |
