Under County Administrative Officer, Fair Election Fund Work Group was created by County Executive in March 2021.

Work Group made recommendations to County Council on creation and implementation of a public financing system for candidates running for County Council and County Executive in 2026 election cycle.

Last met and final report submitted Sept. 30, 2021.

JUVENILE DRUG COURT
In Baltimore County, the Juvenile Drug Court originated as a pilot program in March 2003.

For eligible juveniles ages 13 to 17 who have been charged with a crime (other than a violent crime or sexual offense), the Juvenile Drug Court offers a four-phase intervention program. Lasting about one year, the program involves frequent court appearances, close court supervision, random drug testing, and individual and group-based counseling. Participation is voluntary and requires a commitment by a parent or guardian to participate and attend court hearings.

In Oct. 2020, Solid Waste Work Group by Executive Order was formed by County Executive.

Work Group examined County’s current solid waste collection and disposal practices, and recommended ways to improve Department of Public Works operations

To reduce overall volume of trash produced in County, Work Group recommended a five-year plan on how to implement innovative industry practices and trash diversion strategies, including recycling practices, composting, and other waste diversion strategies.

Last met in March 2021. Final report submitted to County Executive, June 17, 2021.

TASK FORCE ON LIQUOR LICENSE LAWS

TOURISM & PROMOTION ADVISORY COUNCIL
Under Office of Tourism & Promotion, created in 2014; renamed Tourism Commission in Jan. 2021.

WORK GROUP TO CURB RESIDENTIAL TRUCK TRAFFIC

At request of General Assembly, Work Group to Curb Residential Truck Traffic was created by County Executive in Sept. 2020 (Chapter 504, Acts of 2020).

Under County Administrative Officer, Work Group evaluated existing truck routes, identified areas for enforcement, evaluated existing signage, and identified locations where signage could be improved.

Final report submitted Aug. 31, 2021
