The Committee set the type and the amount of the bonds of all State officers and employees who were required to be bonded, while records of bonded State officers and employees were kept by the Comptroller of the Treasury.
Three ex officio members constituted the Committee (Code State Government Article, secs. 9-1701 through 9-1707).
In June 2024, the Committee was abolished, and its functions transferred to the State Treasurer (Chapter 438, Acts of 2024).
