CALL FOR PAPERS

CALL FOR PAPERS will be available February 15, 1999, for presentation at the 10th biannual Parent to Parent conference May 4-7,2000, in Reno, Nevada.

Description: This International Parent to Parent Conference will bring parents/families and professionals from around the world together to share and learn from each other about how best to support families and develop best practices for people with disabilities as we transition into the 21st Century. The Conference theme acknowledges and celebrates Parent to Parent models and philosophies and embraces the growing recognition that it is important for families with children with special needs to know where we've been, why we are here, and where we are going. Who should present? The vision reaches out to individuals with special needs, child and family advocates, social workers, psychologists, educators, health care professionals, physicians, government leaders, policy makers, researchers, clergy members, corporate leaders, volunteers, and anyone else interested

Announcing The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Sponsored Research Project on Breast Self-examination for Blind and Visually Impaired Women

· Are you a woman eighteen years of age or older?
· Do you read large print and watch television?
· Would you like to learn to do a proficient breast self-examination in the privacy of your own home?
· Would you like to participate in a national research project to test a new breast self-examination program designed specially
for blind and visually impaired women?

A female staff member of the research team will call you back to determine if the study is right for you and to help you enroll.
