(276) March Court Anno Domini 1748 Day to wit the Second Tuesday in March aforesaid Samuel Chunn one of the Coroners afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ aforesaid thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Sam: Chunn Coroner And the Coroner aforesaid altho' Solemnly Called brings not in the body of the said William Douglass but makes Default
It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take William Bryan late of Charles County Bricklayer if &C.a and him safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to Satisfy unto Sam.l Hanson Esq.r High sheriff of Charles County as well the sum of One Thousand Two Hundred and Thirteen Pounds of Tobacco which to the said Samuel In the Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices afs.d was adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of a Certain Promise and Assumption afs.d made and unperformed as also Two Hundred Twenty Six Pounds & Three Quarters of a Pound of Tobacco which to the same Samuel of his assent were adjudged for his Costs and Charges by him about his Suit in this part laid out and Expended whereof the said W.m Bryan is Convict &C.a and that he should have there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Matthew Barnes one of the Coroners afs.d Return to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Matthew Barnes Coroner And Matthew Barnes one of the Coroners afs.d Altho' Solemnly Called brings not in the Body of the said William Bryan but makes Default It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take Thomas Sanders late of Charles County in the Province of Maryland Planter otherwise Called Thomas Sanders of Charles County in the Province afs.d Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Samuel Hanson Jun Esq.r High sheriff of Charles County as well the sum of Three Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty Eight Pounds of Tobacco a Certain debt which the same Samuel lately in the County of the said Lord Propry before the Justices at Charles County afs.d Recovered ag.st the said Thomas as also Two hundred Eighteen Pounds and an half Pound of Tobacco which to the same Samuel by Discretion of the Justices afs.d of his assent were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of detaining that debt whereof the said Thomas Sanders is Convict &C.a And that they should have there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Matthew Barnes one of the Coroners afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Sat.d Plf Matthew Barnes Coroner |
