March Court Anno Domini 1748 Samuel in the Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices afs.d was adjudged for his Damages which he had by Occasion of a Certain Promise and Assumption to the s.d Samuel at Charles County afs.d made and unperformed as also Two Hundred and Ten p.d of Tobacco which to the same Samuel of his assent were adjudged for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this Part laid out and Expended whereof the said William Nail is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Samuel Chunn one of the Coroners afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Sam: Chunn Coroner Whereupon the afs.d William into Court herein his Proper person Comes and Confesses himself to be the same Person taken in Execution On which at the Prayer of the said Sam.l the said William is Committed into the Custody of Samuel Chunn Gentleman one of the Coroners afs.d by occasion of the Premises their to Remain until &C.a It was Commanded the Sheriff that he should take James Beck late of Charles Co.ty Weaver if &C.a and him Safe Keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Edward Kellet as well the Sum of One Thousand pounds of Tobacco which to the said Edward in the Court of the said Lord Propry before the Justices afs.d was adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of a Certain Promise to the said Edward at Charles County afs.d made and unperformed as also One Hundred Seventy Six and a Quarter of a pound of Tobacco which to the same Edward of his assent were adjudged for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this Part laid out & Expended whereof the said Edward is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d the Sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Released p Kellets Ex.r or Adm.r James Muncaster Sam: Hanson She It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take Wm Douglass late of Charles County Planter otherwise Called W.m Douglass of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Samuel Hanson Jun as well the sum of four Thousand Eight Hundred & sixty four Pounds of Tobacco a Certain debt which the same Samuel lately in the Court of the said Lord Propry before the Justices at Charles County afs.d Recovered against the said W.m as also Two Hundred and Eighteen Pounds and an half Pound of Tobacco which to the same Samuel by Discretion of the Justices afs.d of his assent were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of detaining that debt whereof the said Willi^a^m is Convict &C.a and that they should have then and there that Writ &C.a And now here at this (day) |
