March Court Anno Domini 1748
It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take Arthur Smith late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him Safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Sam.l Hanson Jun.r Esq.r High sheriff of Charles County Assignee of William Middleton as well the Sum of Two Thousand and Eighteen pounds of Tobacco which to the said Sam.l Assignee of William Middleton in the Court of the said Lord Propry before the Justices afs.d was adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of a Certain Promise and Assumption to the said Samuel assignee afs.d made and unperformed as also Three Hundred and Ten Pounds of Tobacco which to the same Samuel assignee afs.d of his assent were adjudged for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this Part laid out and Expended whereof the said Arthur is Convict &C.a and that they should have then & there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in March afs.d John Wilder one of the Coroners afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ &C.a Thus Indorsed Viz.t John Wilder Coroner With Cepi superseded Mem.o the Plf Releases all but 1482lls Tob.o P Which Return was Return'd the following supersedes Viz.t Charles County ss.t You Arthur Smith Richard Smith and Thomas Hungerford of Charles County Planters do Confess Judgment to Samuel Hanson Assignee of William Middleton for the Sum of fourteen Hundred and Eighty Two Pounds of Tobacco which was Recovered by said Samuel as Assignee of said William against Arthur Smith and Execution Issued on the 10th day of December 1748 in this County for said sum of Fourteen Hundred and Eighty Two pounds of Tobacco which sum shall be Levied of your Body's Goods or Chattles Lands or Tenements for the use of said Samuel Hanson the said fourteen Hundred and Eighty Two pounds of Tobacco as afs.d Recovered against him with the Additional Costs thereon the first day of May Next Taken and acknowledged before us Two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for said County this 18.th day of January 1748/9 Rob.t Yates Arthur Lee
It was Commanded the sheriff that he should take Richard Mycan late of Charles County Sawyer if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Mess.rs Stephenson & Steel as well the sum of Two Thousand p.ds of Tobacco which to the said Stephenson & Steel in the Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices afs.d was Adjudged for their Damages which they had by occasion of a Certain Promise and Assumption to the said Mess.rs Stephenson and Steel of their Assent were adjudged for their Costs and Charges by them about their suit in this part laid out and Expended Whereof the said Richard Mycan is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that Writt &C.a (And) |
