(274) March Court Anno Domini 1748 Two Hundred and Sixty Eight Pounds of Tobacco which to the same George & Com of their assent were adjudged for their Cost and Charges by them about their suit in this part laid out & Expended whereof the said Joseph Allen is Convict &C.a and that he should have then & there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in March afs.d the sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Superseded Sam: Hanson She With which Return was Returned the following supersedes Viz.t Charles County ss.t You Joseph Allen John Allen and Luke Davis do confess Judgment to George Bell and Company for the Quantity of fourteen hundred Eighty and Nine and a half Pound of Tobacco which sum was Recovered by the said George Bell & Company against the s.d Joseph Allen on the Second Tuesday of March last in our County Court the said sum of Fourteen Hundred Eighty and Nine and half Pounds of Tobacco to be Levied of your body's Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements for the use of the said George Bell & Com in Case the said Joseph Allen shall not Pay and Satisfy to the said George Bell and Company the said sum of Fourteen Hundred Eighty and Nine and a half Pounds of Tobacco so as afs.d Recovered against him with the Additional Costs thereon on the first day of May Next Taken and Acknowledged before us Two of his Lordships Justices for said County this 26.th day of November 1748 Robt Yates Arthur Lee It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take James Steward late of Charles County Planter otherwise Called James Steward of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfie unto Samuel Hanson Jun.r Esq.r High sheriff of Charles County as well the sum of one Thousand Nine Hundred and Eight Pounds of Tobacco a Certain debt which the same Samuel lately in the Court of the Lord Proprietary before the Justices at Charles County afs.d Recovered against the said James as also one Hundred Forty Pounds and Three Quarters of a pound of Tobacco which to the same Samuel by discretion of the Justices afs.d of his assent were Adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of detaining that debt whereof the said James if Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that Writt &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Matthew Barnes one of the Coroners aforesaid Returns to the Court here the Writt afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Q Sat.d Plf Matt.w Barnes Coroner It was Commanded the Coroners of Charles County that they should take William Nail late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that they should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Samuel Hanson Jun.r Esq.r High Sheriff of Charles County as well the sum of one Thousand four Hundred and Nine Pounds of Tobacco w.ch to the s.d (Samuel) |
