March Court Anno Domini Tuesday in March Next to Satisfy unto Nathaniel Gray as well the sum of Eleven Thousand five Hundred and Twenty Six Pounds of Tobacco a Certain Debt which the same Nathaniel lately in the Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices at Charles County afs.d Recovered against the said William as also Three Hund.d and Forty Pounds of Tobacco which to the same Nathaniel by the Discretion of the Justices afs.d of his assent were adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of detaining that Debt whereof the said William is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d the sheriff aforesaid Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Sat.d the Plf Sam Hanson She It was Commanded the sheriff that he should take James Mudd late of Charles County if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Richard Gildart Esq.r & sons as well the Sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred Pounds of Tobacco which to the said Rich.d & Com In the Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices afs.d was Adjudged for their Dam.s which they had by occasion of a Certain Promise and Assumption afs.d made and unperformed as also Two Hundred Eighty Three Pounds and a half Pound of Tobacco which to the same Rich.d & Com of their assent were adjudged for their Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this Part laid out and Expended whereof the said James is Convict &C.a and that he should have then & there that Writ &C.a And now here at this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March afs.d the Sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writ afs.d thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus Superseded Sam Hanson She With which Return was Returned the following Supersedes Viz.t Charles County December the 22.d 1748 son James Mudd Thomas Mudd and Will Mudd do Confess Judgment to Richard Gildart Esq.r and Company for the Sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred pounds of Tobacco Damages and Two Hundred and Eighty Three Pounds of Tob.o Cost of suit which Sum was Recovered by the said Richard Gildart Esq.r & Company against James Mudd on the 8.th day of March Last in Charles County Court the said sum to be Levied of your body's Goods and Chattles Lands or Tenements for the Use of the said Richard Gildart and Company in Case the said James Mudd shall not Pay and Satisfy to the said Richard Gildart & Com the said sums so as afs.d Recovered against him with the additional Cost thereof on the first day of May Next Taken this 22.d December 1748 Before Geo Dent It was Commanded the sheriff that he should take Joseph Allen late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second in March Next to satisfy unto George Bell and Company as well the sum of Twelve Hundred Twenry and a half pounds of Tobacco which to the said George Bell and Company In the same Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices afs.d was adjudged for their Damages which they had by occasion of a Certain Promise & Assumption to the said George & Com at Charles County afs.d made and unperformed as also (Two) |
