(409) Hundred and forty five six at Charles County afs.d was Indebted to the said Joseph Aderton in the sum of one Thousand seven Hundred and Three Pounds of Tobacco for divers articles lying Properly in an account as by the Particular account thereof herewith into Court brought may appear and being so thereof Indebted the aforesaid Thomas in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year afs.d at the County aforesaid upon himself assumed and to the said Joseph then and there faithfully Promised that he the afs.d Thomas the afs.d sum of Thousand seven Hundred and Three pounds of Tobacco to the aforesaid Joseph when thereunto afterw.ds he should be Requested well and truly would Content and Pay Nevertheless the afs.d Thomas his Promise and Assumption afs.d not Regarding but minding & fraudulently Intending the same Joseph in this part craftily and subtilly to deceive and defraud the afs.d Thomas the said sum of one Thousand seven Hundred and Three Pounds of Tobacco or any Part thereof to the same Joseph hath not paid nor him for the same in any sort Contented altho the afs.d Thomas afterwards to with the seventh day of December In the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and forty seven and often afterwards at Charles County afs.d by the same Joseph hath been Requested but the same to him hitherto to pay or him for the same in any sort to Content hath hither altogether Refused and still doth Refuse to the Damage of the same Joseph Aderton Three Thousand four Hundred and six pounds of Tobacco and therefore suit is brought and so forth John Doe Pled.s &C.a & Rich.d Roe Dr Mr Tho.s Thompson Jun.r son to School master Contra C.r
