Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next County Court to be held at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in March Next to Answer unto Sampson Hasewell of a plea of Trespass upon the Case & so forth and that he should have then and there that writt &Ca At which day to with the Second Tuesday in March afs.d Comes the afs.d Sampson by Jeremiah Chase his Attorney and offers himself against the said John in the plea aforesaid and the she Namely Samuel Hanson Junior Gent Returns to the Court here that he has taken the Body of the afs.d John Whereupon into Court here in his proper person Came Richard Coffer of Charles County Planter and became Pledge and Security for the aforesaid John that if it should happen that the afs.d John in the Plea aforesaid should be Convict that then the said Richard Coffer Yielded and Granted that was well the Debt afs.d as all Damages which to the same Sampson Hasewell in this Park should be Adjudged of his Lands and Chattels should be made and Levied to answer for the use of the said Sampson Hasewell If it should happen the said John Holden the Debt and Damages aforesaid to the said Sampson should not pay or his body into the Custody of the she by Reason thereof Render And the aforesaid John in his proper Person Comes and defends the force and Injury when &C.a and saith that he Cannot deny the Action aforesaid of him the said Sampson nor but that he owes to the said Sampson the sum of Eight Hundred and seventy five pounds of Tobacco and no more Whereupon the said Sampson by his Attorney aforesaid prays Judgment and those Damages to Acknowledged together with his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this part laid out and Expended to him to be adjudged Therefore it is Considered that the said Sampson Hasewell Recover against the said John Holden his Dam.s aforesaid to Eight Hundred and seventy five pounds of Tobacco above Acknowledged and also Two Hundred and Twenty Seven pounds of Tobacco for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this part laid out and Expended on his assent by the Def.t in ma Court here adjudged and the said John Holden in mercy &Ca
