Anno Dom 1746 Damages which he had by Occasion of Detaining that Debt whereof the said Joseph is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that writ &Ca And Now here at this day to witt the second Tuesday in march aforesaid the sheriff aforesaid Returns to the Court here the writt aforesaid thus Indorsed Vizt Cepi Corpus SHanson She And the sheriff aforesaid altho' solemnly Called brings not in the Body of the said Joseph But makes default Mem.o the Plf Releases the penalty on payment of Principal Int & Damages It was Commanded the sheriff that he should Take Hezekiah Swann late of Charles County Planter otherwise Called Hezekiah Swann of Charles County if &C.a and him safe keep so that he should have his body before the Justices of the Lord proprietary of his Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto George Maxwell as well the sum of Ten Thousand pounds of Tobacco a Certain Debt which the same George lately in our Court of the said Lord Proprietary before the Justices aforesaid at Charles County aforesaid Recovered against the said Hezekiah as also four Hundred and Eighty One pounds of which to the same George by Driscretion of the Justices aforesaid of his Assent were Adjudged for his Damages which he had by occasion of Detaining that whereof the said Hezekiah is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that writt &Ca And Now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in March aforesaid the sheriff aforesaid Returns to the Court here the writt aforesaid thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus SHanson She And the Sheriff aforesaid Altho' Solemnly Called brings not in the Body of the s.d Hezekiah But makes Default mem.o the plf Releases the penalty on payment of the principal Int & Damages It was Commanded the sheriff that he should Take Thomas Cawood late of Charles County Planter if &C.a and him safe keep so that you should have his body before the Justices of the Lord proprietary of his Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in March Next to satisfy unto Henry Hawkins as well the sum of Thirty Three pounds sterling which to the same Henry in the Court of the Lord Proprietary aforesaid before the Justices aforesaid were Adjudged for his Damages which he had by ^occasion of^ a Certain Promise and Assumption to the same Henry at Charles County afs.d made and unperformed as also Three Hundred Pounds of Tobacco which to the same Henry of his Assent were Adjudged for his Costs and Charges by him about his suit in this part laid out and Expended whereof the said Thomas is Convict &C.a and that he should have then and there that writt &C.a And now here at this day to witt the Second Tuesday in March aforesaid the sheriff aforesaid Returns to the Court here the following writt aforesaid thus Indorsed Viz.t Cepi Corpus SHanson She And the sheriff aforesaid altho' solemnly Called brings not in the body of the s.d Thomas Cawood But makes Default |
