(296) March Court Anno Domini 1747 Ordered that the Sheriff pay Mr William Middleton 600lls Tobacco on account of Eliz.a Hutchins and 200lls Tobacco Omitted for Susana Buckwell out of the Times and Amerc.ts Patrick Iverson his Motion to the Court is to be allowed 1200lls Tobacco for keeping a poor Child omitted last year Ordered by the Court here that Edward Roady Present herein in Court in his proper Person Enter into Recognizance in the Sum of Forty Pounds Current money of Maryland with one Good Security in the Like Sum for his the said Roady's appearance at the Next Court of Oyer and Terminer Nisiprius and Gaol Delivery then and there to answer such matters as shall be Objected against him on behalf of his Lordship to Keep the Peace and be of good Behaviour towards all his Majestys Subjects and stand to and abide the Judgment of said Court and not depart without leave thereof Whereupon into Court here in his Proper Person Comes the afs.d Edward Roady and Acknowledges himself to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the sum of Forty Pounds Current Money of Maryland and also in like manner Came Hugh Prory and acknowledged himself to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his said Lordship the Sum of Forty POunds Like Money which Sums they severally yeilded and Granted should be made and Levied of their and Every of their body's Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to the use of their said Lordship his Heirs & Successors On Condition that the said Edward Roady do and shall make his Personal Appearance here before the Judges & assigns to be holden at Charles Town on the Twenty fifth day of April Next to answer unto what shall be then & there objected against him on behalf of the Lord Proprietary and stand to and abide the Judgment of said Court and not depart the Court without leave thereof and in the meantime Keep the peace and be of good Behaviour to all his Lordships Good People
Be it REmembered that on this day to wit the Second Tuesday in March aforesaid Henry Darnall Esquire his Lordships Attorney General On Tances Informs and Gives the Court here to understand that the said William Armstrong was and still is Guilty of Begetting a Bastard Child on the body of Mary Castel and prays the advice of the Court therein Thereupon the said William being Present herein Court afs.d being Asked wether he be Guilty of the premises afs.d on him Imposed saith that he is no wise thereof Guilty but for that he will not Contend with his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in that behalf Humbly Submits himself to the Court Therefore it is Considered that the said W.m be fined or Suffer Corporal Punishment according to the Directions of the Act of (Assembly) |
