                                  I Certify that the above Account is a Copy from the Deceased
Peter Mitchells Book which Book was proved before the Worshipfull Wm
Middleton July y.e 8.th 1741 as appears by the probat in said Book Witness my
hand the 8.th June 1747                                                        Robt Hanson

Whereupon into Court here in his proper person Comes William Middleton
of Charles County Merchant and becomes pledge and Security for the afs.d W.m
Hopewell that if it should happen that ^for^ the said Wm Hopewell in the plea afs.d should
be Convict that then the said Wm Middleton yeilded and Granted that as well the
Damages aforesaid as all Costs which to the same Alex.r & uxor Ex.x as afs.d in this
part should be adjudged of his Lands and Chattles should be made and Levied to &
for the use of the said Alex.r & Uxor Ex.x as afs.d If it should happen the said Will.m Hopewell
the Damages and Costs aforesaid to the said Alex.r & Uxor Ex.x as afs.d should not pay or
his body into the Custody of the sheriff by Reason thereof Render

                                                          And the said William Hopewell by Thomas
Clark his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &C.a and
prays leave thereof to Imparle hereto until the Next Court to be holden at
Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in August Next and he hath it and the same
day is given the same Alex.r & Uxor Ex.x as afs.d here &Ca

                                                    At which day to wit the second Tuesday in August
aforesaid Comes here as well the said Alex.r & Uxor Ex.x as afs.d as the s.d Wm by
their attorneys afs.d and the said W.m by his said attorney prays further leave thereof
to Imparle hereto until the Next Court to be holden at Charles Town on the Second
Tuesday in November Next and he hath it and the same day is given to the same
Alexander & Uxor Ex.x afs.d here &Ca
