  Judgment p Cognovit Actionem

Charles County ss.t  John Macpherson late of Charles County Planter was attached
                               to answer unto Daniel Stephenson of a plea of Trespass upon the Case &C.a
    And Whereupon the same Daniel by Jeremiah Chase his attorney
Complains that whereas the said John the Twenty Seventh day of September In the year
of our Lord one Thousand Seven HUndred and forty Seven at Charles County afs.d was
Indebted to the said Daniel In the sum of Eight Hundred & seventy seven pounds of Tobacco
for divers articles lying properly in an account as by the particular account thereof herew.th
into Court Brought may appear and being so thereof Indebted the aforesaid John
in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year aforesaid at the County afs.d
upon himself assumed and to the said Daniel then and there faithfully Promised that he the
aforesaid John the aforesaid sum of Eight Hundred and Seventy Seven pounds of Tob.o
to the said Daniel when thereunto afterwards he should be requested well & truly would
Content and pay   Nevertheless the aforesaid John his Promise and Assumption
aforesaid not Regarding but minding and fraudulently Intending the same Daniel
In this part Craftily and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the aforesaid John the said
sum of Eight Hundred & seventy seven pounds of Tobacco or any part thereof to the same
Daniel hath not paid nor him for the same in any sort Contented altho the afs.d
John afterwards to wit the Twentieth day of August In the year of our Lord one
Thousand seven Hundred and forty seven and often afterwards at Cha.s County
aforesaid by the same Daniel hath been Requested but the same to him hither to
to pay or him for the same in any sort to Content hath hitherto altogether Refused
and stil doth Refuse to the Damage of the same Daniel one Thousand Seven
Hundred & fifty four pounds of Tobacco and therefore suit is brought & so forth

of the peace and made oath on the Holy
Evangelist that the above account is just
and True and that he hath not Received any part
nor parcel thereof nor any Security or Satisfaction
for the same to the Best of his Knowledge
