Maryland ss.t  Prince Georges County October 6.th 1747   Then Came Charles
Rudd before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the peace for
the County aforesaid and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty
God that the above account is Just & true & that he never Received Part nor
Parcel thereof nor any Security or other satisfaction for the same
                                                    Sworn before
                                                                            Jno Hawkins Junr

Whereupon into Court here in his proper person Comes Thomas Walker &
Michael Boswell of Charles County Planters and becomes pledge & security for
the afs.d John Boswell that if it should happen that the afs.d John in the plea afs.d
should be Convict that then the said Tho.s & Michael yeilded & Granted that as
well the Debt aforesaid as all Damages which to the same Chris.r & Com in this
part should be adjudged of his Lands & Chattles should be made & Levied to & for
the Use of the said Chris.r & Com If it should happen the said John the Debt and
Damages afs.d to the said Chris.r & Com should not pay or his body into the Custody
of the sheriff by Reason thereof answer

And the afs.d John in his proper person Comes and defends the force & Injury
when &C.a and says that he Cannot deny the Action afs.d of them the said Chris.r &
Company nor but that he did assume upon himself in manner & form as the s.d
Chris.r & Company have sustained Damages by means of not performing the
Premises & Assumptions afs.d to Eight Hundred and Seventy Eight Pounds of
Tobacco as the said Chris.r & Com above in Declaring supposes
                                                                                     Whereupon the said Chris.r
& Company by Henry Darnall their Attorney afs.d pray Judgment & those
Damages so acknowledged together with his Costs & Charges by him about
their suit in this part laid out & Expended to them to be adjudged

                                                                                     Therefore it is Considered
by the Court here that the said Christopher & Company do Recover against
the said John his Damages afs.d to Eight Hundred and Seventy Eight
Pounds of Tobacco above acknowledged as also the sum of Two
                                                                                              (Hundred)
