(141) Meaning of the act of Assembly concerning ordinarys and for the Better Regulating Innholders and ordinary keepers within this Province Fine Paid in Court to Sheriff 50/ shillings Currency William Bryan on his Motion to the Court is admitted to keep ordinary at this House at Bryan Town he giving Security according to the Directions of the act of Assembly in those Cases late made & Provided Whereupon into Court here in his Proper Person Comes the afs.d William Bryan and acknowledged himself to owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary In the sum of Forty Pounds Current Money of Maryland and also in like Manner Came William Middleton and Samuel Hanson Jun & acknowledged themselves to owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his said Lordship In the sum of Twenty Pounds like money each which sums they and every of them severally Yeilded and Granted should be made and Levied on their and every of their Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements to the use of his said Lordship his Heirs and Successors On Condition that the said William Bryan do keep Good Rules and orders and does not suffer Idle Loose or disorderly Persons to Tipple Game or Commit other disorders or Irregularities Contrary to the true Intent and meaning of the act of Assembly Concerning Ordinarys and for the Better Regulating Innholders & ordinary Keepers within this Provints Fine paid in Court to Sheriff 50/ shillings Curr Tervis Hair Presented by his Master John Brooks for Runaway Time who makes Oath that he Absented himself four days from John Chapman Junr his late Master and 26 days from the said John Brooks and that he Expended In Taking him up four Hundred and Eighty one Pounds of Tobacco Whereupon he is Adjudged to serve five Days for one and five Months for the four Hundred and Eighty Pounds of Tobacco Samuel Middleton Informing the Court that Ann Wilson formerly a Servant to M.rs Ann M.cchonchee was adjudged to serve for Runaway time & Charges fourteen years to Commence last June and the Record thereof being burnt It is ordered that the said Ann Willson serve the said Samuel the said Term she being Assigned to him by the said Ann Maconchie |
