Into Court brought may appear and the said Jeremiah being so thereof Indebted
in Consideration thereof afterwards (to wit) the day and year afs.d at the County
afs.d upon himself assumed and to them the same John & Company then and there
Faithfully Promised that he the said Jeremiah the said Sum of Nine pounds Curr.y
 to the said John & Company would well and truly Content and Pay when thereunto
afterwards he should be Requested   Nevertheless the said Jeremiah his Promise
and Assumption afs.d in form afs.d made not in the least Regarding but minding
and fraudulently Intending them the said John & Com in this part Craftily &
subtilly to deceive and defraud the said Jeremiah the said Sum of Nine pounds Curry
or any part thereof to him the said John and Company hath not paid or in any
sort Contented (altho so to do the said Jeremiah now on the first day of November
In the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and forty Six and often before
and Since at Charles County afs.d by the said John & Com Requested but the said
Jeremiah the said Sum of Nine pounds Currency or any part thereof to them
the said John & Com to pay or in any sort to Content hath hither to altogether
Refused and still doth Refuse to the Damages of them the said John & Company
Eighteen Pounds Currency and therefore they brought suit & so forth

Whereupon into Court herein his proper person Come William
Hagan of Charles County Planter and becomes pledge and Security for the afs.d
Jeremiah that if it should happen that the afs.d Jeremiah in the plea afs.d should
be Convict that then the said William Yielded & Granted that as well the Debt afs.d
as all Damages which to the same John & Company in this part should be adjudged
of his Lands & Chattles should be made and Levied to and for the use of the said
John & Com If it should happen the said Jeremiah the Debt and Damages aforesaid
to the said John & Com should not Pay or his body in to the Custody of the Sheriff by
Reason thereof Render

    And the aforesaid Jeremiah Aderton in his proper person Comes & defends the
force & Injury when &C.a and prays leave thereof to Imparle until the Next Court to
be holden at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in June Next and he has it and
same day is given them the said John & Company here &Ca
                                                                                              And now here at this
day to wit the Second Tuesday in June afs.d Comes as well the said Jeremiah in his
Proper Person as the said John Muschett & Com by their attorney afs.d and the said
