              June Court                                  1741                                   99

present here in Court in these proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Obediah Cusheday in thirty pounds Currt
money of Maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles lands or tenements Severally to be made and levied to the use of the said Obediah Cusheday his
heirs and Assigns  If it happen that the said Edmond Hammond do not during the term af.d learn his said apprentice the trade of a weaver and
to read well in the bible and at the Expiration of his Servitude ^doe not^ give him a new suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and doe
not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the
term af.d &c


Ann Venables
Chose Guardian
Ann Venables an Orphan above the age of Fourteen Years Came here into Court in her proper person
and prays that She may be permitted to Chose a Certain David Polk of Somerset County planter as her Guardian
which is by the Court here unto her Granted         Thereupon the said Ann Venables present herein Court in her proper person
makes Choice of the said David Polk as her Guardian accordingly   Whereupon the said David Polk is ordered to take unto his
Care and possession the aforesaid Orphan and her Estate Real and that he give good Security for to Comply with the Guardianship
aforesaid &a
                               Thereupon the said David Polk with Thomas Gillis and David Willson all of Somerset County Gentlemen his
Security all present herein Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Ann Vennables the af.d Orphan
in one hundred pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their bodys Goods or Chattles lands or tenements Severally to be made and levied to
the use of the said Ann Vennables her heirs or Assigns  If it happen that the said David Polk the af.d Guardian do not Comply with the
law in relation to such Guardian ships as af.d and do not deliver up unto the af.d Orphan all her Estate reall that he shall have in his hands
and possession peaceable and quietly when ever the same shall be legally required &c


Edw.d Rownd
Lycence and Recognizance
     Edward Rownd of Somerset County Inholder Came hereinto Court in his proper person and Prays
that he may be permitted to keep an Ordinary or house of Entertainment at his dwelling house where he now Liveth
for the Use and Conveniency of the Inhabitants Travellers ^and^ Strangers as to them Respectively shall seem meet which is by the Court here
unto him Granted he giving Security to Comply with the act of assembly in such Case made and provided &c

                            Whereupon the said Edward Rownd with James Martin and Samuel Hopkins of Somerset County Gentleman
his securitys all present here in Court in their proper person   Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Right honrble
the Lord Proprietary of Maryland in the full and Just Sum of five pounds Currant money of and Province of their bodies goods
or Chattles Lands or tenaments severally to be made and Levied to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors  If it happen
that ^he the said^ Edward Rownd doe not pay and Satisfie unto the Sheriffe of the County aforesaid for the time being fifty Shillings Currant
money of the province af.d Yearly and Every year he shall keep such Ordinary or house of Entertainment as af.d &c

    Likewise the same Edward Rownd with the af.d James Martin and Samuel Hopkins his Securitys af.d all present here in Court in their
proper persons ^as afd^ Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his said Lordship the Lord proprietary in Forty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of
their bodys Goods or Chattles lands or tenements Severally to be made and Levied to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors  If it
happen that the said Edward Rownds do not keep good rules and Orders and do Suffer Idle loose and disorderly persons to tipple Game or
Commit disorders or other Irregularitys in his Ordinary or house of Entertainment during the time that he shall keep the same Contrary to
the true intent and meaning of the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided &c


John Wildman
Lycence & Recognizance
John Wildman of Somerset County Inholder Came here into Court in his proper person and prays that he may be
permitted to keep an Ordinary or house of Entertainment at Snowhill in the County af.d for the use and Conveniency
of the Inhabitants travellers and strangers as to them Respectively shall seem meet which is by the Court here unto him ^is^ Granted he giving
