97 and Ordered that they be allowed five hundred pounds of tobacco for their publick service this Court to be allowed of in the County Levey at november Court then next following and against the aforesaid Jane Haines Eliza Carey Rachell Bennet Sarah Mears and Marjoram Mallard so as aforesaid Indicted It is Ordered that Capias Issue Returnable here at August Court then next following
the term aforesaid &.a In Consideration of which Service the said Joseph Wait present here in Court his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the same County in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form Following that is to say that the said Joseph Wait during the term af.d shall and will learn his said apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer and to read write and Cypher as for us the rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his Servitude given him a set of Cordwainers tools ^and a new suit of Cloaths^ and Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for such an apprentice to have and ware during the term af.d &c Whereupon the said Joseph Wait is Ordered to give Security to Comply with the Covenants af.d Thereupon the said Joseph Wait together with William Smith and Race Clark of Somerset County planters his Securitys present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Mathew Cobb in thirty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles lands or tenements Severally to be made and Levied to the use of the said Mathew Cobb his heirs and assigns If it happen that the said Joseph Wait do not during the term af.d learn his said apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer ^and^ to read write and Cypher as far as the rule of three Inclusive and do not at the Expiration of his Servitude given him a set of Cordwainers tools and a new suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and do not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid &a
he shall serve his secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly he shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull apprentice shall demean himselfe towards his said Master and all his during the term aforesaid &a In Consideration of which service the said Mathias Coston present herein Court in his proper pson Covenanteth with ^the^ Justices of the same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form Following that is to say that the said Mathias Coston during the term af.d shall and will learn his said apprentice the trade of a house Carpenter ^and^ to read write and Cypher as far as the rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his Servitude give him a ^new^ Suit of Cloaths and likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for such an apprentice to have and ware during the term af.d &c Whereupon the said Mathias Coston is Ordered to give Security to Comply with the Covenants af.d Thereupon the said Mathias Coston together with Charles Dickerson ^of^ Marum and Stephen Coston of Somerset County planters his Securitys present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Ezekiell Coston in thirty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles lands or tenements Severally to be made and Levied to the use of the said Ezekiel Coston his heirs and assigns |
