95 Levyed of your bodys Goods or Chattles Lands or Tenements for the use of the said Robert Geddes in Case the said Saul Townsend shall not pay and Satisfie to the said Robert Geddes the said One pound two and Nine pence so as afd Recovered against him with the additionall Costs thereon on the tenth day of November Next Taken before me this thirteenth day of May 1741 Jn.o Scott
Henry of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c And the same day is given to the af.d John here &c Att which day here Came the af.d John Henry by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney ad the sheriffe to witt John Handy Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Henry Lawrence whose body here at this day he had ready to answer the af.d John Henry of the af.d plea as to him it was COmmanded Att which day here Came again the parties af.d by their attorneys af.d and hereupon the said John Henry Complained against the af.d Henry Lawrance in the plea af.d in form Following Somerset ss.t Henry Lawrence late of Somerset County Marriner was Attached to Answer unto John Henry of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c And Whereupon the same John by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney Complains that whereas the af.d Henry Lawrance the twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred thirty and seven at Somerset County af.d was Indebted unto the same John the sum of twenty and one pounds Eight shillings and Seven pence and the half of one penny Current money of the province of Maryland for Sundry articles properly Chargeable in an account (as by an account thereof here into Court brought may appear) and so thereof Indebted being the said Henry Lawrance the same day and year af.d at Somerset County af.d in Consideration thereof upon himself did assume and to the said John then and there faithfully promise that he the said Henry Lawrance the sum of money af.d unto the same John when thereof afterwards requested he would well and faithfully pay and Content and altho' the af.d Henry Lawrance one pound five shillings and two pence part of the said sum of twenty and one pounds eight shillings and seven pence and the half of one penny unto the same John he hath since paid and satisfied Nevertheless the af.d Henry Lawrance as to twenty pounds three shillings and five pence half penny thereof residue his promise and assumption af.d in form af.d made little regarding but minding and fraudulently intending the same John ^in^ that part Craftily and Suttlely to deceive and defraud the sum of money last mentioned or any penny thereof unto the said John (altho' the same to do the af.d Henry Lawrance afterwards (to witt) the same day and year af.d and often since that time at Somerset County af.d by the same John requested hath not paid but the same to him to pay hetherto hath refused and still doth refuse to the damage of the said John thirty pounds Curr money of the province af.d & thereof he brings Suit &c Pledg.s &.c J: Doe & R: Roe
