John Powell whose body hereat this day he had Ready to Satisfie the afd James Stephen of the damages afd
as to him it was Commanded

Command was given to the sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take John Price late
of Somerset County planter if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that
he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at
Dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty to satisifie Levin Gale Esqr
of Twelve pounds Current money of Maryland and two hundred and forty Eight pounds of tobacco which to him the same Levin
Gale Esqr in the same Court before his said Lordships Justices at dividing Creek were adjudged for his damages which he had
by Occasion of a Certain promise and Assumption by the same John to the said Levin Gale Esq.r made and not performed
whereof he is Convict and the same day is given to the af.d Levin Gale Esq.r here &c

                      Att which day here Came the af.d Levin Gale Esq.r in his proper person and the sheriffe to witt John Handy Gent
now here returned that he had taken the af.d John Price whose body here at this day he had ready to satisfie the af.d Levin Gale
of the damages af.d as to him it was Commanded                     Whereupon the said sheriffe altho Solemnly Called brings
not in the body of the aforesaid John Price according to the Return of the writt afd but makes default &c


Pse  The Same Executor

     Command was given to the sheriffe of Somerset County that he
should take William King late of Somerset County Inholder otherwise
Called William King of the County of Somerset of Province of maryland
if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before
the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of
March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty to Satisfie Levin Gale Esq.r Executor of the
testament and Last will of Timothy Atkinson dec.d as well a Certain debt of Sixty nine pounds of Good
and Lawfull money of the province of Maryland which to the same Levin in the same Court before the
Justices thereof at dividing Creek Recovered against him as of three hundred and fifty pounds of tobacco
which to the same Levin in the same Court were adjudged for his damages which he had by Occasion
of the detention of the same debt whereof he is Convict and the same day is given to the afd Levin here
&.a               Att which day here Came the afd Levin Gale Esq.r in his proper person and the sheriffe
to witt John Handy Gent now here Returned that he had taken the afd William King whose body
hereat this day he had Ready to Satisfie the afd Levin Gale of the debt and damages afd as to him it
was Commanded            Whereupon the said Sheriffe Altho' Solemnly Called brings not in the body
of the afd William King according to the Return of the writt afd but makes default &.a
