1740 66 for the same Lord propry prays the Advice of the Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law against the same Ann Willet in that part may be made to answer unto the same Lord propry of and upon the premisses &c Thereupon Command is to the sheriffe of the County af.d that he should take the said Ann Willet if &c to answer &c And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek the af.d Seventeenth day of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Ann Willet in her proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and her Security in this part first acknowledged and had a hearing of the Information af.d and saith that She Cannot deny but that she is Guilty of the premisses af.d in the Information af.d specified above upon her Imposed in manner and form as by the Information af.d above upon her Supposed and maketh oath that a Certain Shadrick Claywell is the begetter of the Child she stands Informed against Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the af.d Ann Willet pay unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary for her fine by the Court here upon her Imposed for and by occasion of the premisses af.d whereof in form af.d she is Convict thirty shillings Current money of Maryland and that the said Ann be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &c Whereupon the said Ann Willett is Ordered to give Security for the payment of any Fee or Fees due upon the Information and premisses af.d to any person or persons whatsoever &c thereupon a Certain Ambrose Willet of Somerset County planter present here in Court in his proper person and undertook for the said Ann Willet to pay any Fee or Fees and all Fees that might accrew due by means of the premisses and Information af.d to any person or persons Whatsoever &c
being presented that Shadrick Claywell late of Coventry parish in the said County of Somerset planter the Sixteenth day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Comit fornication with a Certain Ann Willet and of her body then and there had Carnal knowledge and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Ann then and there did beget to the high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided Thereupon Command is to the sheriffe of the County af.d that he should take the said Shadrick Claywell if &.c to answer &c And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek the af.d Seventeenth day of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Shadrick Claywell in his proper person according to a Certain Recognizance by him and his Security in this part first acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment af.d and saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the premisses af.d in the Indictment af.d Specified |
