Orphans Bond
Somerset County   ss     Know all men by these presents that we Katherine Vennables W.m Vennables &
In Maryland
George Hardy all of Somerset County in the province af.d are holden and firmly bound unto Martha
Vennables Joseph Vennables Perkins Vennables and Dorothy Vennables in the full and Just sum of fifty Eight pounds and
six shillings halfe penny to be paid unto the said Martha Joseph Perkins and Dorothy Vennableses their heir Ex.rs Admrs or
assignes to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind our selves our and either of our heirs Ex.rs and Admrs
for the whole and In the whole Jointly and Severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 18th day of
March Anno Dom 1740

                The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the Commissary Genll hath transmitted unto this Court
the Accot of the estate of William Vennables dec.d wherein it is found that there is ballance due to the above said Orphans the
sum of twenty nine pounds and three shillings one farthing therefore if the abovesaid Katherine Vennables William Venables
and George Hardy they or any of their heirs Exrs Admrs shall and do well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the above said
orphans the af.d sum of twenty nine pounds and three shillings one farthing in Equall parts and portions According to Act of
Assembly when they shall arrive at full age to Receive the same &c then the above obligation to be void and of none Effect
otherwise to Remain in full force and vertue in Law                                                                                    her

Somerset County ss.t  Be it Remembred that Robert Jenckins Henry Gent Attorney of the right
Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is who for the same Lord proprietary in this part prosecuteth
doth Come here into the County Court (to witt) at dividing Creek in the same County the Seventeenth
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty to before John Scott Esq.r and his Associates the
said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same County court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Justices
here to understand and be Informed that Sarah Low Late of Stepney parish in the County of Somerset the twentyth
day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty at the parish af.d in the County af.d and
within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Comit fornication with a Certain person unknown and did permit the same
unknown person then and there to have Carnall knowledge of her body and then and there to beget a Bastard Child on
the body of her the same Sarah to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such
