seven hundred and forty before Robert King Esqr and his Associates the said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that whereas a Certain Ann Clark late of Stepney parish in the said County of Somerset Spinster the Ninth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty af.d with force and arms at the parish af.d in the County af.d one pound and four Shillings in Gold Currency of the province of Maryland and twelve shillings and Six pence Current money of the province af.d in bills of Credit of the goods and Chattles of a Certain Hugh Rimmer then and there feloniously did steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government And the same Attorney of the said Lord proprietary ^for the same Lord Proprietary^ doth given the Court here further to understand and be Informed that Patrick Connelly late of Somerset parish in the said County of Somerset Felt maker after the twelfth day of February one thousand seven hundred and two and after the felony aforesaid in form af.d done and perpetrated knowing the af.d Ann Clark the felony af.d in form af.d to have done and perpetrated and also knowing the af.d one pound and four shillings in Gold Currency of the province of Maryland and twelve shillings and six pence Current money of the province af.d in bills of Credit to have been so as af.d Stolen on the tenth day of June in the year af.d at Stepney parish af.d in the ^said^ County of Somerset the said Patrick Conelly the severall sums of one pound and four shillings in Gold Currency af.d and twelve shillings and Six pence Current money of the province af.d in bills of Credit knowing the same to be stolen in manner and form af.d from the said Ann Clark Feloniously did receive to the Evill and pernicious Example of all Others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the statute in such Case lately made and provided &c Whereupon the same Attorney of the same Lord propry for the same Lord propry prays the Advice of the Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against the same Patrick Conelly ^may be^ made to Answer unto the same Lord proprietary of and upon the premisses &c Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriffe of the County aforesaid that he Should Take the said Patrick if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the day and Year abovesaid before his Lordships Justices at a Court then held att dividing Creek Came the aforesaid Patrick Connelly in his proper person according to a certain Recognizance by him and his Security in that part first acknowledged and prays that his appearance may be recorded and he and his securitys discharged Thereupon the said Patrick Connellys appearance is recorded and he and his Securitys accordingly discharged from the Recognizance aforesaid &a Whereupon on the same day and Year above said the said Patrick Connelly is Ordered by the Court here to give new Recognizance in fifty pounds Currant money of the province aforesaid with two Securitys in Twenty five pounds Curr.t money Each for his the said Patrick Connellys good behaviour and appearance at next ^the^ Court to be held at dividing Creek in and for the County aforesaid the third Tuesday of August then next following to answer the Information aforesaid &c Whereupon the said Patrick Connelly with a Certain William Bevins os Somerset County planter and James Anderson of the same place planter his securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves |
