His Lordship

William Knowles
And now to witt the third Tuesday of November being the Eighteenth day of the same
month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and forty at a Court then held at dividing Creek before
his Lordships Justices Came a Certain William Knowles in his proper person According to a Certain
Recognizance by him and his Security in this part first Acknowledged and prays that his appearance may be recorded and
he and his Security from the Recognizance af.d may be discharged      Thereupon the said William Knowledge appearance is
Recorded and his Security of and from the Recognizance af.d are discharged &c

                   Whereupon the said William Knowles is ordered give Security for all fee or fees due on the recognizance af.d
    Thereupon a Certain Geore Dashiell of Somerset County Gent present here in Court in his proper person undertook for the said
William Knowles to pay all fee or fees due on the recognizance to any person or persons whatsoever in ^Case^ the said William
Knowles doe not pay the same &c

                            August y.e 20.th 1740      Then Came the above David Brown and made Oath on the holy
    Evangelist of almighty God that the above bond against William Willcox as it there stands stated is just
    and true and that he never Received any part or parcell or any satisfaction for the same by himself or
    any other person for his use or any security for the same to the best of his knowledge
                                                                                                 Sworn to before me         Henry Ballard

    Maryland  Somerset County ss
                                                       Whereas Complaint hath this day been made to me the Subscriber
    one of his L.dships Justices of the County af.d by David Brown that the above William Willcox is
Indebted to him the sum of twelve pounds Currt money and that he the said William Willcox has Absconded
from Justice and has removed and is about to remove his Effects with a design to defraud his Creditors of
all which he has made due prooff agreeable to an Act of assembly for that purpose made

       These are therefore in his Ldships name to Require you on sight hereof to Issue an Attachment
against the Effects of the above named William Wilcox in whose hands soever that they may be to satisfie
the above sum of Twelve pounds Currt money as af.d with such Costs as shall Legally Answer on the same
and for so doing this shall be your power given under my hand and seal this 20.th day of August 1740

          In Obediance to the above warrant was Issued the following Attachment against the goods and Chattles
    of the af.d William Willcox According to Act of assembly in such case made and provided &.a

Somerset sst   Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore
&.a to the sheriffe of Somerset County Greeting we Command you that you Attach any the goods Chattles Rights or
Creditts of William Willcox late of Somerset County planter if they shall be found in your bailywick to the value
