Peter Claywell Jun.r

Lycence and Recognizance

               Peter Claywell Jun.r of Somerset County Inholder Came
hereinto Court in his proper person and prays that he may be permitted
to keep an Ordinary or house of Entertainment at his dwelling house at Snow Hill in Somerset
County for the use and Conveniency of the Inhabitants Travellers and Strangers as to them
Respectively shall seem meet which is by the Court here unto him granted he giveing Security
to Comply with the act of assembly in such case made and provided &.a

          Whereupon the said Peter Claywell with Abraham Outten and Joshua Sturgiss of
Somerset County planters his securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged
themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of maryland
in the full and just sum of Five pounds Currt money of the said Province of their bodys goods or
Chattles Lands or tennements Severally to be made and Levied to the use of his said Lordship
his heirs and Successors    If It happen that the said Peter Claywell Jun.r doe not pay and
Satisfie unto the sheriffe of the County af.d for the time being Fifty Shillings Currt money of the
province af.d yearly and every year he shall keep such Ordinary or house of Entertainment as
af.d &.a                        Likewise the said Peter Claywell Jun.r with Abraham Outten and
Joshua Sturgiss his securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons as af.d acknowledged
themselves Indebted unto his said Lordship the Lord Proprietary in Forty pounds Currt money of
maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles Lands or tennements Severally to be made and Levied
to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and successors  If it happen that the said Peter Claywell Jr
doe not keep good Rules and Orders and doe suffer Idle loose or disorderly persons to tipple
Game or Committ disorders or other Irregularities in his Ordinary or house of Entertainment dureing
the time that he shall keep the same Contrary to the true Intent and meaning of the act of assembly
in such case made and provided &.a

Robert Geddes of Somerset County Inholder Came here into Court in his proper
                                      person and prays that he may be permitted to keep an ordinary or house of Entertainment at his dwelling
                                                 house at the Court house in Somerset County for the use and Conveniency of the Inhabitants travellers and
Strangers as to them Respectively shall seem meet which is by the Court here unto him granted he giving Security to Comply ^with^ the
