June Court                          1742                   281

Def.t      Margery Jarvice aged about thirty five years being sworn on the holy Evengelis of Almighty God
    saith that the Gut making up by Luks point was Called Levins Gutt and a mare was in the Gut af.d and her
    mistress asked what gut the mare was in and Ann Puckam answered and said in the Great pasture Gutt and the
    said Puckam lived in the house with her mistress and that Coll Rodger Woolford and M.r James Woolford &
    Mr Willis and her master Levin Woolford Came from her masters to a pine standing near a Glade that makes into
    the head of the said Gut by Luks point and marked a pine with three notches on two sides and Coll Rodger  
    Woolford told her to take notice of that tree and she was a servant to Levin Woolford then and further saith
    not                                                                                                                                            her

Commission and affidavitts

     Sommerset ss     Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces
of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.a  To David Wilson
Samuel Wilson John Waters and William Waters all of Somerset County Gent Greeting know ye that
we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commissioners to examine evidences on behalfe
of a Certain Nicholas Fountain of the County af.d in relation to the bounders of two tracts of Land
lying in the County af.d one Called Fishing Island and the other Called new found Land ^we therefore require you or any two of you at some time & place as ye or any three or two of ye shall Seem Convenient to meet on ye afd Land Called fishing Island & New found Land^ You first haveing
taken your Oaths on the holy evangelist of Almighty God according to Act of Assembly in such Case made
and provided and there Cause to Come before you or any three or two of you all such evidences as shall be to
you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainant or def.t if any and that you or any
three or two of you examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two of you
administred on the holy evangelist of almighty God in the presence of the Complainant or def.t if any touching
the truth or remembrance of their knowledge or any ^thing^ that may relate to the Cause af.d and that reducing the
Severall depositions into writing you send the same together with this our Commission under your or any
three or two of you hands and seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed  Wittness
John Scott Gent one of our Justices of our Said Court the Nineteenth day of June Anno Dom one thousand
seven hundred and forty one

                         And now to witt the third Tuesday of June being the Fifteenth day of the same month Anno Dom
one thousand seven hundred and forty two at a Court then held at dividing Creek before his Lordships Justices
in and for the County of Somerset Came David Willson and Samuel Willson two of the Gent nominated in
