paid Taxes in the County this forty Years and Exempt your petitioner from paying Taxes any Longer which favour will Ever Ingage your petitioner to pray The petition aforesaid being read and heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the afd Patrick Mathewson be discharged from paying of Taxes for the future as by the petition aforesaid is praid and that he be allowed One pound of tobacco as an Object &a James Neal appointed Overseer in the place and Stead of William Gray in nanticoke hundred for the Ensuing Year &a
well and faithfully he shall serve his secrets Keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly he shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull apprentice shall demean himselfe towards his said Master and all his during the term aforesaid In Consideration of which Service the said George Clifton present herein Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form following that is to say that he the said George Clifton J.r shall and will during the Term aforesaid Learn his said apprentice the Trade of a hous Carpenter and give him six months Schooling and Likewise provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid Whereupon the said George Clifton is Ordered by the Court here to give Security for to Comply with the Covenants aforesaid Thereupon the said George Cliften J.r with a Certain John Goddard of Sommerset County planter his Security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the said Michael Clifton in the full and Just Sum of fifty pounds Currant money of Maryland of their bodies goods or Chattles Lands or Tenements Joyntly or Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of the said Michael Clifton his his Executors administrators or assignes In Case the said George Clifton Jun.r doe not during the Term aforesaid Learn his said apprentice the Trade of a hous Carpenter and do not give him Six months Schooling and doe not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid &a |
