1741 237 the Information af.d to any person or persons whatsoever Thereupon a Certain Joseph Jones of Somerset County planter present herein Court his proper person undertook for the said John Jones to pay all fee or fees that might Accrew due by means of the premisses and Information af.d to any person or persons whatsoever &c
County af.d (to wit) at dividing Creek in the same County the Eighteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one before John Scott Esqr and his Associates the same Lord proprietary his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that Arcadah Wheeler late of all hallows parish in the said County of Somerset spinster the tenth day of aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain Solomon Crapper and did permit the same Solomon then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Arcadah then and there to beget to the high displeasure of Allmighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &.c whereupon the same Attorney of the said Lord propry prays Advice of the Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law against the said Arcadah in this part may be made to Answer unto the same Lord propry of and upon the premisses &c Thereupon Command is to the sheriffe of the County af.d that he should take the said Arcadah Wheeler if &c to answer &c And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek this Sixteenth day of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Arcadah Wheeler in her proper person According to a Certain recognizance by her and her Security in this part first Acknowledged and had a hearing of the Information af.d and saith that she Cannot deny but that she is guilty of the premisses af.d in the Information af.d specified above upon her Imposed in manner and form as by the Information af.d above upon her supposed and maketh Oath that a Certain Solomon Crapper is is the begetter of the Child she stands Informed for Whereupon |
