236 Almighty God to the evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is hid good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c Thereupon Command is to the sheriffe of the County af.d that he should take the said Violet Davis if &c to answer &c and now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d at dividing Creek this Sixteenth day of march Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Violet Davis in her proper person according to a Certain recognizance by her and her Security in this part first acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment af.d and saith that she Cannot deny but that she is guilty of the premisses af.d in the Indictment af.d specified above upon her Imposed in manner and form as by the Indictment af.d above upon her supposed and maketh oath that a Certain John Jones is the begetter of the Child she stands Indicted for Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the af.d Violet Davis pay unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary for her fine by the Court hereupon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses af.d whereof in form af.d she is Convict thirty shillings Curr.t money ^of Maryland^ and that the said Violet Davis be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &c Thereupon the said Violet Davis is ordered to give security for the payment of all fee or fees due on the Indictment af.d to any person or persons what sever &c Thereupon a Certain Robert Davis son of William Davis of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper person undertook for the said Violet Davis to pay any fee or fees and all fees that might Accrew due by means of the premisses and Indictment af.d to any person or persons whatsoever &c
County af.d to witt at dividing Creek in the same County the Sixteenth day of march in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one before Robert King Esq.r and his Associates the said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that John Jones late of all hallows parish in the said County of Somerset planter the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty and one at |
