                                                         Be it Remembred that Robert
Jenckins Henry Gent attorney of the right Honourable the Lord proprietary
that now is who for the said Lord Proprietary in this part prosecuteth doth Come here into
the County Court of the same Lord Proprietary held for Somerset County af.d (to witt) at
dividing Creek in the same County the Sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand
Seven hundred and forty One before John Scott Esq.r and his associates the said
Lord Proprietary his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord Proprietary
doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that Temperance Gray late of all
Hallows parish in the said County of Somerset Spinster the twenty eighth day of May
In the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty One at the parish af.d
in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain
person unknown and did permitt the same unknown person then and there to have Carnall
knowledge of her body and a bastard Child on the body of her the same Temperance then and
there to begett to the high displeasure of almighty God to the evill example of all others in
such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good
Rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case made and provided
&.a  Whereupon the same attorney of the said Lord Proprietary for the said Lord Proprietary
prays Advice of the Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law in this part against
the same Temperance Gray may be made to answer unto the same Lord Proprietary of
and upon the premisses &.a

                      Thereupon Command is to the sheriffe of the County af.d that he should take
the said Temperance Gray if &.a to answer &.a  And now to witt at that same Court held for the
County af.d at dividing Creek this Sixteenth day of March Anno Dom one thousand seven
hundred and forty One before the af.d Justices Came the af.d Temperance Gray in her proper
person according to a Certain Recognizance by her and her security in this part first acknowledged
and had a hearing of the Information af.d and saith that she Cannot deny but that she is guilty
of the premisses af.d  In the information af.d specifyed above upon her Imposed in manner
and form as by the Information af.d above upon her supposed and maketh oath that a Certain
William Lanerson of George is the begetter of the Child she stands Informed against
