232 Dennis to pay all fee or Fees due to any person or persons whatsoever on the Indictment af.d In case that the said Donnock Dennis doth not the same &c
that John Riggen son of Teague Riggen late of Coventry Parish in the said County of Sommerset planter the Seventh day of October in the Year of Our Lord God One thousand Seven hundred and forty One with force and Arms &a at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain Charles Dickerson in the peace of God and the said Lord propry that now is then and there being in highway an Assault did make and him the said Charles then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his life it was greatly dispaired and other harms to the ^same^ Charles then and there did to the Greivous damage of him the said Charles and Contrary to the peace of the Right honourable the Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Government Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Sommerset County that he Should take the said John Riggin if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of March then next Following to Answer unto his said Lordship of the Indictment af.d &c And now to witt the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one at a Court then held at dividing Creek before his Lordships Justices Came the af.d John Riggen in his proper person and had a hearing of the Indictm.t af.d and saith that he will not plead with his said Lordship but Submits with a protestation of his Innocency and puts himself upon the favour of the Court &c Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the af.d John Riggen pay unto his said Lordship the right Honrble the Lord propry of the province of Maryland for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses af.d whereof in form af.d he is Convict two shillings and Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said John Riggen be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine af.d &c thereupon the said John Riggin is discharged paying the Severall officers their Fees &c |
