    To the worshipfull Justices of Somerset County in Court now Sitting your humble petitioner haveing
an old negro man Called Sangro that is afflicted in one of knees so that he is oblidged to walk with his staff
in his his hand if he wants to goe but out of the adores so that he is of ^very^ little service to your petitioner therefore
your petitioner humbly prays that your worships would be pleased to sett the said Negro tax free as your humble
petitioner in duty bound shall ever pray                                                                                    Philip Selby

             The petition af.d being read and heard and fully understood   It is Considered that the af.d negro man Sangro be
for the future tax free as by the petition af.d is praid &c


    Ordered that Capt Henry Ballard pay unto Capt John Miller thirty Shillings Currant money of Maryland for
the Use of an Object the daughter of Mary Davis and the Same to be accounted for at the Laying of the County
Levy next &a

          Ordered that Capt Henry Ballard pay unto Mary Hill an Object the wife of John Hill three pounds paper
Currency and the same to be allowed of at the Laying of the County Levy next &a

             Upon a motion made to this Court on behalfe of a Certain George Parker for the Turning of the Road &a  It is thereupon
Ordered by the Court that the said George Parker have the Liberty of Turning of the Road Ten poles below Coxes branch

Sommerset ss    Charles Absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and
Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c  To James Martin Samuel Hopkins John Scarborough and
Edmund Hough all of Somerset County Gent Greeting know ye that we have appointed you or any
three or two of you to be Commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain Hugh Stevenson of County af.d in
relation to the bounders of two tracts of Land Lying in the County af.d the one Called Grove and the other Castle Quarter
We therefore require you or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall seem
Convenient you meet on the af.d Land Called Grove and Castle Quarter (You first haveing taken your oaths on the holy
Evangelist of Almighty God According to Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided and there Cause to Come before you
or any three or two of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you Nominated by the said Complainant or
Deft if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their Corporall oaths to be by you or any three or two of
you administred on the holy evangelist of Allmighty God in the presence of the Complainant or def.t if any touching the truth
or remembrance of their knowledge or any thing that may relate to the Caus af.d and that Reduceing the Severall depositions into
writing you send the same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to our County
Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed wittness John Scott Gent one of our Justices of our said Court the twenty Sixth day of
November Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty
