212 In the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty we met on the said Lands Called Meeches Hope and Rich swamp and then and their in the presence of Joseph Dashiell and Levin Dashiell we took the deposition of W.m Vohn George Scott and Joseph Bounds Day Scott (seal) Abraham Cordery (seal)
on behalf of a Certain William Turpin son of John of the County af.d in Relation to the bounders of a tract of Land Called Tottonais Lying in the County af.d we therefore require you or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall seem Convenient you meet on the af.d Land Called Tottonais (You first haveing taken your Oaths on the hold Evangelist of Almighty God According to Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided) and there Came to Come before you or any three or two of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you Nominated by the said Complainant or def.t if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine then upon their Corporall Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the presence of the Complainant or defendant if any touching the truth or Remembrance of their Knowledge or any thing that may relate to the Cause af.d and that reduceing the severall depositions into writing you send the same together with this Commission under you or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient speed Wittness John Scott Gent one of our Justices of our said Court the twenty first day of August Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one And now to witt the third Tuesday of Nobember being the Seventeenth day of the same month Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one at a Court then held ^before his Lordships Justices^ at dividing Creek in and for the County of Somerset Came John Waters and William Waters two of the Gentlemen nominated in the above Commission and made return thereof endorsed with the severall depositions thereto Annexed in form Following Be it Remembred that on the tenth day of October 1741 Came before the Subscriber Cap.t John Waters and and M.r William Waters and made oath on the holy Evenjalis of Almighty God to Execute the within Commission as to them |
