18 differrence between the said Jean John and Ann Polk and the said James Quatermus in this Action to us the Subscribers we doe award that the said James Quatermus pay to the said plantiffs the Sum of fifteen pounds Curr.t Money of Maryland and their Costs of Suit in this action in full of the said Matters in dispute between the parties aforesaid RKing Nehemiah King 1731 Which being read and heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Justices here that the aforesaid Jean John and Ann Polk Recover against the aforesaid James Quatermus their damages aforesaid to the afd fifteen pounds 443 Curr.t money of Maryland by the arbitrators aforesaid in form aforesaid found as also pounds of tobacco for their Costs and Charges to the Same Jean John and Ann Polk at their request by the Court here adjudged and the aforesaid James in Mercy &a
Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the same County the third tuesday of August Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty to Answer unto John Chalivers of a plea of trespass upon the Case &.a and the same day is given to the af.d John here &.a Att which day here Came the af.d John Chalivers by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney and the Sheriffe to wit John Handy Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Hugh Brooks whose body hereat this day he had ready to Answer the af.d John of the af.d plea as to him he was Commanded And hereupon the af.d John declared against the af.d Hugh in the plea af.d in form following vizt Somerset sst Hugh Brooks late of Somerset County Marriner was attached to Answer unto John Chalivers of a plea of trespass upon the Case &.a And Whereupon the same John by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney Complains that whereas the af.d Hugh the thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred thirty and nine at Somerset County af.d was Indebted to the same John in the sum of twelve pounds and ten Shillings Currt money of maryland for the like sum of money of a Certain John Newton to the use of him the said John by the Same of Hugh before that time had and received and so Indebted being the same Hugh in Consideration thereof upon himself did assume and to the said John then and there faithfully promise that he the af.d Hugh the af.d Twelve pounds and ten Shillings to the same John when thereof he should be requested would well and faithfully pay |
