                     November Court                           1741                        178

at the age of Sixteen Years she being five Years old the Eleventh day of January Next
the said apprentice to serve her said master the full term af.d dureing which term the said apprentice
her said master well and faithfully she shall Serve his secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully
and honestly every where willingly she shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull
apprentice shall demean herself towards her said Master and all his dureing the time af.d

                In Consideration of which Service the said Uriah Watson present herein Court
in his Proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the same Court in Court Judicially sitting
in manner and form Following that is to say that he the said Uriah Watson shall and will
dureing the term af.d Learn his said apprentice to Read well in the Bible and to Knitt sew and
Spin and other houswifery and give her a new suit of Cloaths over and above her Comon wearing
Cloaths and Provide for his said apprentice sufficient meat drink washing Lodging and
Cloathing sufficient for his said apprentice to have and ware during the time af.d

                   Whereupon the said Uriah Watson is ordered to give Security to Comply
with the Covenants   Thereupon the said Uriah Watson with Peter Watson of Somerset County
Planter his security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves
Indebted unto the said Rachell Russell in the sum of thirty Pounds Currt money of maryland
of their bodys goods or Chattles Lands or tenements severally to be made and Levied to the use of
the said Rachell Russell her heirs and assigns  If it happen that the said Uriah Watson do
not dureing the time af.d Learn his said apprentice to Read well in the Bible and to Knitt sew
and Spin and other houswifery and ^doe not^ give her a new suit of Cloaths over and above her Common
wearing Cloaths and doe not provide for his said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and
Cloathing sufficient for his said apprentice to have and wear dureing the term af.d


George McKeine of Nanticoke Hundred in Somerset County planter is appointed by the Court here Constable of said
Hundred for the Ensuing Year &.a  Whereupon the said George McKeine present herein Court in his proper person took
the Severall Oaths to the Government appointed by act of assembly to be taken with the Oath of a Constable Repeated the test
and Subscribed the same with the Oath of abjuration &a


Joshua Merrill of pocomoke Hundred in Somerset County planter is appointed by the Court here Constable of said Hundred for the
Ensuing year &c  Whereupon the said Joshua Merrill present herein Court in his proper person took the Severall Oaths to the
Government appointed by Act of Assembly to be taken with the Oath of a Constable and repeated the test and Subscribed the same with
the Oath of Abjuration &c
