                                            To the Worshipfull Justices of Somerset County now sitting the humble
petition of Edmund Crapper Sen.r whereas your petitioner hath a Indian Slave dick that has been afflicted
with a Sore Leg this Eighteen years and is now unsarvicable prays your worships to set him tax free and as in duty bound shall ever pray

                        The petition af.d being read and heard and fully understood &.c  Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the af.d
Edmund Crapper be discharged from the paying of taxes for the af.d Indian Dick as by the petition af.d is praid &c

    Whereas a Certain John Caldwell of Sommerset County Gentleman had undertaken and built a bridge
Over Wickacomoco River at Salsbury Town and agreed to keep the said Bridge in good and Sufficient
Repair for horse and Cart to pass and repass at his Own Costs and Charges for fifteen Years to Commence from the date of
of this Court &a
                                     Whereupon Came hereinto Court the aforesaid John Caldwell in his proper person with John
Caldwell Late of Sommerset County planter for his Security and Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Right
Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the Province of Maryland in One hundred and thirty pounds Curr.t money of said
Province of their bodies goods or Chattles Lands or tenements Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of the Inhabitants
of the County of Sommerset   If it Happen that the said John Caldwell his heirs Executors or administrators or any or Either
of them doe not from time to time and for all times during the Space of fifteen full Years to Commence from the day of
the date of this Court at his or their own proper Costs and Charges keep the afd bridge in good and Sufficient repair Sufficient
for horse and Cart to pass and repass according to the true Intent and meaning of his agreement &a

sheweth that your petitioner being four years or thereabout Very much afflicted in his Lims which Causes him
uncapable of paying his Taxes or Labouring for his Liveing as he ought to do and your petitioner humbly beggs the favour of
your worships to ease him of the burden of his Leavies or to set him tax free and your petitioner as in duty bound shall ever pray

                         The petition af.d being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had   It is Considered by the
Court here John Daniel be discharged from paying of taxes for the future and allowed one pound of tobacco as an object &c

Rhody Bowen humbly Sheweth that whereas your worships petitioner has a negro man Named Ned that by
reason of age and Infirmety is unfitt for Labour and notwithstanding their has been means used and nothing Bettered but still Continues
his disease your worships petitioner humbly prays your worships may take it into Consideration and set him tax free for the future
