       August Court     1741                                        144

George Trewitt son of James Trewitt being almost blind is discharged by the Court here from paying of Taxes for the
future &.a
                      Ordered by the Court here that a road be Cleared from the plantation of John Houston at the seaside untill
it Intersects the main County Road a little above John Aires's and that the said Road be under the Care of Adam Spence overseer
of the Adjacent roads and that John Houston William Richardson and Thomas Jones be added to said Overseer to doe their duty on
the aforesaid Road &a
                                        It is Ordered by the Court here that a road be Cleared from the north End of Snow Hill along W.m
Robertsons side of the divisionall Line dividing him and Adam Spence to the Brow of the hill of the Mill Branch and from thence
the directest and best way with the said Branch to the Old bridge and from thence with the old road to perrys Old feild &.c and
to be under Adam Spence Overseer &.a


Robertson Maddox
bound to Katherine Breman
     Robertson Maddox (son of Lazarus Maddox Late of Somerset County decd) of his own
free Consent is bound out by the Court here an apprentice according to act of assembly in such Case made
and provided unto Katherine Breeman of the same place untill he arrives at the age of Twenty One Years he being ten Years
of Age next february the said apprentice to Serve his said Mistress the full term af.d during which term the said apprentice his said
Mistress well and faithfully he shall Serve her Secrets keep her Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly he shall
doe and in all things as a good and faithfull apprentice shall demean himself towards his said Mistress and all his during the term af.d &c

                      In Consideration of which Service the said Katherine Breeman present herein Court in her proper person Covenanteth
with the Justices of the same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form Following that is to say that she the said Katherine
Breeman shall and will during the term af.d Learn her said apprentice the trade of a Shop Joyner and to read write and Cypher as far as the
rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his Servitude give him a new suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths
and a       young Horse and provide for her said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for her said apprentice
to have and wear during the term af.d &c

                      Whereupon the said Katherine Breeman is ordered to give Security to Comply with the Covenants af.d  Thereupon the said
Katherine Breeman with George Layfield of Somerset County planter her Security both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged
themselves Indebted unto the said Robertson Maddox in Fifty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of their bodys goods or Chattles Lands or
tenements Severally to be made and Levied to the use of the said Robertson Maddox his heirs and assigns  If it happen that the said Katherine
Breeman do not during the term af.d Learn her said apprentice the trade of a Shop Joyner and to read write and Cypher as far as the rule of
three Inclusive and ^doe not^ at the Expiration of his Servitude give him a new Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths &
Likewise give him a young horse and ^doe not^ provide for her said apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for her said

       Ordered that a ^new^ Road (at the motion of Capt Thomas Williams) be Cleared and ditched after the straightest manner as
may be from out of the main Road near Joseph Porters which said new Road is to Extend to the Chapple at the had head
of Coulbourns Creek and to be Cleared and ditched according to the direction of Coll Robert King Cap.t Thomas
Williams and Thomas Williams Jun.r and Thomas Bell the Overseer of the Roads adjacent &c
