June Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one to satisfie William Gray ^of Nanticoke^ as well a Certain debt of Eight hundred and ninety two pounds of tobacco which the same William Gray in the same Court before the Justices thereof at dividing Creek recovered against him as of Two hundred and Sixty Six pounds of Tobacco which to the same William Gray in the same Court were adjudged for his damages which he had by Occasion of the detention of that same debt whereof he is Convict &c and the same day is given to the af.d William here &c Att which day here Came the af.d William Gray in his proper person and the sheriffe to witt John Handy Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Benj.a Sharp whose body here at this day he had ready to satisfie the af.d William Gray of his debt and damages af.d as to him it was Commanded
hundred and ninety Seven pounds of tobacco which to the same Levin in the same Court were adjudged for his damages which he had by Occasion of the detention of the same debt and that same money and Tobacco you have before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of June then next Following to render the af.d Levin of his debt and damages af.d whereof he is Convict &.c And the same day is given to the af.d Levin here &c Att which day here Came the aforesaid Levin Gale Esq.r by George Douglas his attorney and the Sheriffe of Somerset County to witt John Handy Gent now here Returned the aforesaid Writt in manner Following An Inventory of the goods and Chattles of Francis Tate being Seized and appraised for the use of Coll Levin Gale by us the Subscribers in Curr.t money this 6.th day of May To 1 mare and Saddle seven pounds Currt mony £7 his his his Jn.o I Richords Francis F L Lanck Lewis C Disharoone James Nicholson marke marke marke By Virtue of the writt hereto annexed to me directed I have Caused to be made of the goods and Chattells of the within named Francis Tate the within sum of Seven pounds Curr.t money of Maryland and the said Sum of Seven pounds have ready before the Justices in the said writt named at the day and place within Contained to satisfy the said Levin Gale in part of his debt and damages in the said writ mentioned as by the said writ I am Commanded and I further Certify to the said Justices that the said Francis Tate hath no goods and Chattles in any my bailywick whereof I can make the residue of the said debt and damages in the writ named as by that writ I am required So answers Jn.o Handy Sher |
