107 ^Breeches^ of the value of two hundred pounds of tobacco three yards of white Linnen of the value of Sixty pounds of tobacco and two yards of Ozenbrigg Linen of the value of Twenty pounds of tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a Certain Elvin Gale Esq.r then and there Feloniously did steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such Case lately made and Provided &.a Robt Jenckins Henry Test George Dashiell W.m Murray on the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was endorsed Ignoramus Nicholas Fountain
Shipwright the seventh day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty one with force and arms &.a at the parish af.d in the County af.d three yards of white Linen of the value of sixty pounds of tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a Certain William James then and there feloniously did steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the said Lord Proprietary that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the act of assembly in such case lately made and provided &.a R J Henry Test George Dashiell William Murray William James On the foregoing deed it was endorsed Ignoramus Nicholas Fountain Maryland ss To the Sheriffe of Somerset County I Send you here with the body of John Butler Shipright who was this ^day^ brought before me for feloniously takeing and stealing three yards of white Linnen of the goods and Chattles of a Certain William James in Somerset County and you are hereby required to keep the same Butler in your (seale) Goal Till ^he^ shall be thence delivered by due Course of Law hereof fail not at your Perill and for so doing this shall be your warrant given under my hand and seal the 8.th of May 1741 Levin Gale And now to witt the Sixteenth day of June Anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and forty One at a Court then held at dividing Creek in and for the County afd before his Lordships Justices Came the aforesaid John Butler in Custody of the Sheriffe of the County aforesaid ^in whose Custody for the Cause afd before that time was Committed^ and being by the said sheriffe Ledd to the Barr in his proper person and Thereupon the said John Butler is Ordered to give Recognizance in Twenty pounds Sterling with One Security in the Like Sum for his the said John Butlers good behaviour and appearance at the next Court to be held |
