103 of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid he is Convict Thirty Shillings Currant money of Maryland and that the said Sowell Long be Taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine aforesaid Thereupon the said Sowel Long is Ordered to give Security for the payment of al fee or fees due on the Indictmt afd to any person or persons whatsoever Whereupon a Certain Jeffrey Long of Somerset County planter present herein Court undertook for the said Sowel Long to pay all fee or fees due to any person or persons whatsoever on the Indictment afd &c In Case the said Sowel Long doth not pay the same &c
late of Alhallows parish in the said County of Somerset planter the Sixth day of march in the year of our Lord God Seventeen hundred & forty with force and arms &c at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain Jonathan Sturgis in the peace of God and the said Lord proprietary that now is then and there being an Assault did make and him the said Jonathan then and there did beat wound and evilly treat so that of his life it was Greatly dispaired and other harmes to the same Jonathan then and there did to the Grievous damage of him the said Jonathan and Contrary to the peace of the right honrble the Lord propry that now is his good rule & Goverment Thereupon it is Commanded the sheriffe of the County of Somerset that he should take the said William William Bowen if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third Tuesday of June one thousand seven hundred and forty one to answer unto his said Lordship of the Indictment af.d And now to witt at that same Court held for the County af.d the third tuesday of June being the Sixteenth day of the same month Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and forty one before the af.d Justices at dividing Creek Came the af.d William Bowen in his proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment aforesaid and saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the premisses aforesaid in the Indictment aforesaid Specified above upon him Imposed in manner and form as by the Indictment aforesaid against him Supposed and the premisses in the Indictment aforesaid Expressly acknowledgeth Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being seen and by the Court here fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid William Bowen pay unto his Lordship the Right honrble the Lord Proprietary of the Province of Maryland for his fine by the Court here upon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses aforesaid whereof in form aforesaid he is Convict One Shilling Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said William Bowen be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine aforesaid Whereupon the said William Bowen is Ordered to give Security for the payment of all fee or fees due on the Indictment af.d to any person or persons whatsoever Thereupon a Certain Solomon Dennis of Somerset County planter present herein Court undertook for the said William Bowen to pay all fee or fees due to any person or persons whatsoever on the Indictment af.d in Case the said William Bowen doth not pay the same &c |
