9 We the undersigned being appointed by the Hon: Orphans Court of Kent County to view and estimate the annual value of the Real Estate of Ida Armstrong (minor) as will appear by the annexed warrant Accordingly we qualified and entered upon and viewed the said Real Estate and have returned a description and annual valuation thereof as will be seen herein after The Farm situated within one mile of the village of Galena contains one hundred and nine acres of land including about four acres of Public Road In the forest and in the public road leading from the Catholic Church to Millington is a tract of woodland containing ten acres which although sparsely timbered is intended for the use of the farm The dwelling house with other buildings have been standing about twelve years The dwelling is forty by thirty two feet is two stories high with observatory on top had three rooms on the first floor ^with Piazza part & back four rooms on the second floor^ and guarded by two lightning rods the kitchen is sixteen feet square one and one half stories high one room below and two above with shed attached and cellar under the kitchen and in good order The pailing fence enclosing the front yard is in tolerable good order The pailing fence enclosing the garden is in very bad repair The barn is thirty eight by twenty four feet is two stories and contains the stable corn crib granary and the hay loft above It is guarded by one lightning rod and is in tolerable repair; attached to the barn is a shed carriage house ten by twenty four feet and is in good order The meat house is ten by twelve feet the poultry house is twelve feet square the privy is four feet square and are in good order There are three acres in a peach and apple orchard is in bad order and of but little value The yards and garden contain about two acres Owing to the location the tillages are irregular and cannot conveniently be otherwise The farm is to be cultivated in four field system as follows The present stalk field containing about thirty two acres to be sown in Small grain and the tenant to furnish the clover seed at the rate of one bushel to ten acres The stable fields containing about twenty seven acres to be tilled in corn The clover field containing about twenty three acres to be broken up and sown in wheat the following fall The field now having the growing crop of wheat on it contains about eighteen acres; is to be planted in corn in the Spring of eighteen hundred sixty two The system of cultivation above mentioned to be continued |
