16 We the undersigned appointed by the Orphans Court of Kent County to view and estimate the annual Rent or valuation of the Real Estate of Sarah E. Moffett Samuel J Moffett Charles Moffett Mary L. Moffett and William Moffett minor children of the late William Moffett deceased now in the hands of William Welch their acting Guardian respectfully beg leave to Report; The said Real Estate consists of a farm situated in the first Election district of Kent County on the stage road leading from the village of Galena to that of the Head of Sassafras and contains about three hundred and twenty acres of land The improvements are a small one story dwelling house sixty four by sixteen feet in tolerable repair; A meat house fifteen by fifteen feet with a shed and carriage house eight by fifteen feet; Barn forty by fifty feet with two corn houses granary and stables; an ice house eighteen by sixteen feet all in tolerable repair; a garden of three quarters of an acre enclosed with pale fence and a yard enclosed with plank fence The farm is divided into six fields and usually cultivated with two fields in wheat two in corn one in oats and one seeded in clover; One half of clover seed we recommend to be purchased by the tenant and the other half by the Heirs; Also three thousand bushells of Lime to be annually spread to be purchased by the Heirs and to be hauled and spread by the tenant without charge; we recommend the same mode of cultivation as stated above There is also a wood Lot of some forty or fifty acres in the Forest and detached from the farm but used to furnish five wood &c We estimate the annual Rent of said farm and wood Lot at Twelve hundred and twenty five dollars. The fencing on the farm is in bad condition Also a brick dwelling house in the village of the Head of Sassafras two story twenty four by Seventeen feet and back building forty by fourteen feet; A stable sixteen by twenty one feet all in bad repair And a Lot attached of one and half acres enclosed by post and rail fence in bad order; We estimate this property at fifty dollars per annum Also another frame dwelling in said village adjoining the property first described of one story eighteen by twenty one in bad repair and about half an acre of land attached partially enclosed with oak fencing in tolerable repair; We estimate the annual Rent of said property at twenty dollars |
