        August Court                    1737                94

Lands & tenements Joyntly & Severally to be made and Levied to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs
and Successors if it happen that the said Henry Jarman do & Shall not pay unto his said Lordship
fifty Shillings Currant money of Maryland for ever Year he Shall keep such ordinary or house of
Entertainment &.c  Likewise the Said Henry Jarman with Littleton Townsend & Jonathan Sturges
his Securitys afd all present herein Court in their proper persons as afd acknowledged themselves
Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the Sum of forty pounds Currant
money of Maryland of their Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally
to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be Made and Levied If it happen that
the said Henry Jarman do not keep good rules & orders and do Suffer Idle Loose or disorderly
persons to tipple Game or Commit disorders or other Irregularities in his ordinary or house of
Entertainment during the time that he Shall keep the Same Contrary to the true Intent and meaning
of the act of assembly in such Case made and provided &c

     Thomas Walker of Somerset County Inholder Came hereinto Court
in his proper person and prays that he may have the Liberty to keep
and ordinary or hous of entertainment at his house at wickocomoco in the                                                                            
County af.d for the use and Conveniency of the Inhabitants travellers and Stranges
as to them respectively shall seem mete which is by the Court hereunto him Granted
he giving security according to act of assembly in such case made and provided &c

            Whereupon the Houses said Thomas Walker with Francis Persons and
Robert Givans both of the County af.d planters his securitys all present herein Court
in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the
Lord proprietary of the province of maryland in the sum of five pounds Curr.t
money of their goods and Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and severally to
be made and Levied to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Success^ors^ if it happen
that the said Thomas Walker do and shall not pay unto his said Lordship fifty
shillings Curr.t money of maryland for every year he shall keep such ordinary or
house of entertainment &.c  Likewise the said Thomas Walker with Francis
Persons and Robert Givans his security af.d all present herein Court in their
proper person as af.d  acknowledged themselves Indebted unto His Lordship
the Lord proprietary in the sum of forty pounds Curr.t money of maryland
of their goods and Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and severally to the use
