and did permit the same unknown person then and there to have carnal knowledge of her body and
to beget then and there a basterd Child on the body of her the same Eliz.a to the high Displeasure of
Almighty God to the evil evil Example of all others in such case offending contrary to the peace of the
said Lord proprietary that now is his good Rule and Government and against the form of the act of
assembly in such Case lately made and provided &c            Test Thomas Winder

       On the foregoing Indictment it was endorsed vizt Billa Vera Alex.d Lackie Foreman
    Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take the said Eliza Holbrook
    if &.c to answer &.c afterwards to witt the fifteenth day of March anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred
and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held in the Court house
at dividing Creek in and for the Same Court Comes the same Eliz.a Holbrook by Thomas Bluett her attorney &
defends the force & Injury when &c and Says that he Cannot gainsay but that the Same Eliz.a is Guilty
of the premisses afd in the Indictment afd above upon her Imposed and every thing in the same
Indictment afd Expressly Confesseth &c

       Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood
It is Considered that the afd Elizabeth Holbrook pay unto his Lordship the Lord Propry
for her fine by the Court here upon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premises afd whereof in form
afd she is Convicted thirty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said Eliz.a Holbrook be taken
to Satisfie unto his Said Lordship of the fine afd for the use of the County afd &c
Col Levin Gale promiseth to pay the Fees on the Indictment afd &c

Somerset County ss  Be it remembred that William Goldsborough Gent attorney of the
Right Honourable the Lord proprietary that now is who for the same Lord
proprietary in this part prosecuteth doth Come hereinto ^the County^ Court of the same
Lord proprietary held for Somerset County af.d to witt at dividing Creek in
    the County af.d fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord God seventeen hundred and thirty
    six before John Smith Esq.r and his associates the said Lord proprietary his Justices of the same  
    County Court and for the same Lord proprietary doth give the same Justices hereto understand and
    be informed that John Leatherbury late of Stepney parish in the County af.d Shipwright
    the twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord God seventeen hundred thirty and six
    at the parish af.d in the County af.d within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication
    with a Certain Eliz.a Holbrook and of her body then and there had Carnal knowledge and also
